Is Shakespeare still relevant today ???

Is Shakespeare still relevant today ???

"Some are born great, Some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them,"
William Shakespeare

Before I start I'm going to be perfectly honest with saying I have no idea how to answer the question 'Is Shakespeare still relevant today?' But since its a homework requirement I will do my best.

So I  was looking at some websites to see what they had to say about this question and nearly all of them said that Shakespeare IS still relevant today. You can see by all the movies made based on his plays, I've listed a few below:

But I couldn't find many reasons saying WHY he's still relevant? All the websites I've looked at say its because of the messages he has in his plays, such as 'Everyone is going to have to experience death,' or the lessons of greed and doing anything to get what you want, like in Macbeth.

I remember one of my English teach once said that he changed the English language by making all these amazing quotes, and to be honest we use those quotes every day such as 'Fight fire with fire,' and before I searched it I didn't realize how many of these quote Shakespeare came up with.

Can you imagine that in 500 years there would be teenagers going out of their minds trying to understand your plays?
Its not really reality, is it. And this wasn't reality for Shakespeare either as none of his plays were officially published until after his death.

Now imagine there people using quotes from your plays and the messages in your plays still being relevant in 500 years?

It would be awesome. This just goes to show how amazing Shakespeare's plays must have been. I've only read two of them but both of them have the same message of greed. And there is still greed today, therefore Shakespeare must still be relevant.

This goes for all the messages in his plays, love and death are still in the world today, so his plays should be relevant.
He was just clever enough to put them into words and put a story line to these emotions.

I hope I answered the question but like I said at the beginning I didn't really know how to answer the question so I've done my best :)
