Shakespeare playing around

Shakespeare playing around

" It is not the stars that hold our destiny but in ourselves,"
William Shakespeare

  • William Shakespeare wrote 37 plays that have been published. But he probably wrote a lot more
  • He wrote his plays on events that had happened to him. For example his sisters and son died of the plague so he used this to write his plays.
  • Some of his most famous plays include: Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and Mid Summers Night dream.
  • These plays were performed in the globe theater.
  • His plays weren't published in his lifetime but after he died his friends got all the plays they could find and put them in a folder. Later one of his friends sold them to get published.
  • Some people believe that Shakespeare didn't really write his plays because they weren't published in his lifetime.
  • Back in those days play writing wasn't a very good job and it was considered to be the work of witches. This could have been where he got the idea of adding withes to his plays.
  • It would have been hard to carry on writing plays with the plague. Would you have carried on

Shakespeare didn't know he was making history when he wrote there plays but we still learn about him today in school so his plays must have been pretty amazing.
